Life after Sky Motoring
by JonQ on Oct.20, 2009, under News
Welcome brethren to the next chapter of my exciting career post Sky Motoring! Yep, for those of you still unaware, Sky has taken the decision to close the website I, together with three work buddies, have spent the last two years of my life lovingly creating and developing. It’s no secret that I think the decision to close the site was a bad one, though I admit commercially, it wasn’t exactly shitting gold.

This is what a coffee shop nomad looks like
Redundancy at 27 feels weird. Initially I was shocked, then I became inexplicably angry and then I wallowed about in solipsistic self pity (read listened to Morrissey) for a bit before realising this wasn’t me. Fuck that, far better to have had a go at creating something, something I’m deeply passionate about and (admittedly) failing, than being parked up on easy street for another two years.
So, this first blog post, which comes to you from the Urban Coffee Company in Birmingham – I’ve already turned into a WiFi hunting, coffee shop nomad – is really to say thank you dudes for your continued support, to show off the new JonQuirk.com website and to remind you that if I ever start talking about ‘brand JQ’ please let me know that I’m being a twat. I am going to give this blog, the vanguard of a new career movement, some dedication so you can expect everything and anything automotive here, from random rants to insider gossip and even a few exclusive video car reviews along the way. If you are so inclined, you’ll always know what I’m up to. Keep the faith, we’ll be all good.
