The Gas Station Podcast episode five
by JonQ on Apr.20, 2010, under News, Podcast
It’s 10PM and the first long hall flight to Heathrow in six days has just landed. The risk of volcanic ash to aircraft has been reassessed and all UK airports have been given the green light to reopen, which means that all you stranded peeps will be home soon!
In the meantime, have a listen to the fifth episode of The Gas Station which features the usual commentators (myself, Alex Goy and cameraman Phil) alongside MSN Cars Web Producer Nigel Swan.
Nigel (pictured far right) is an experienced road tester/writer/presenter and is one of the most liked and respected men in the motoring business. So it’s absolutely great to have him on, slagging off my car and telling us all about the new Audi R8 Spyder.
Latest podcast download figures seem to suggest that we’re also accumulating a pretty hefty underground comradeship, so a massive thank you for your continued support. We hope you enjoy the latest instalment and as always, all worthy shout outs are linked below.

The Gas Station Podcast episode four
by JonQ on Apr.18, 2010, under News, Podcast
In episode four of The Gas Station, Alex Goy, cameraman Phil and myself are joined by friend, car nut and online advertising guru, Barty Mee. This week, Barty offers his opinions on the demise of the motor show, the commuting advantages of riding a fixed-wheel bicycle and err…the art of the male pout.
Meanwhile ,the rest of the team start planning the next boys holiday to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. Yes, it may another thing in the ever-expanding, legacy cash-in catalogue of stuff that has absolutely nothing to do with sports cars, but we may just like it. As usual, you’ll find all the best shout outs linked below. Enjoy!

The Gas Station Podcast episode three
by JonQ on Apr.12, 2010, under News, Podcast
Sorry, I’ve been trying to fix my Jag and completely forgot about the third episode of The Gas Station Podcast.
You’ll probably be able to tell from the acoustics that this week, we’re not talking from inside my 37-year old motor.

The Gas Station crew: we're not quite sure how we made episode three without killing each other, either
Instead, we’re supping brews at Alex’s flat and I’m talking about snowboards. I’ve just returned from my first boarding holiday with friends – literally, fifteen hours ago I was on a French mountain spanking big foaming plumes of German beer - and have caught the bug, big time!
Anyway, thanks for listening, enjoy the car talk and check out the very worthy shout outs below. Go Force India!

Force India: the greatest Formula One team ever. Possibly. They're our boys (and random girl) for the 2010 season.

The Gas Station Podcast episode two
by JonQ on Mar.22, 2010, under News, Podcast
I’m back in the beloved Jag with Alex Goy and friends for The Gas Station Podisode Two! This week, we give credence to hybrid supercars at the Geneva Motor Show as well as name and shame some of the show flops including the meekly derivative Nissan Micra and of course, the Aston Martin Cygnet.
Once again, Goy has ceased to exercise the slightest control over his remarks so apologies in advance if you’re easily offended.

The Gas Station Podcast episode one

So there I was, cleaning the plugs on my Jaguar XJ6 when motoring journalist Alex Goy came down (he had phoned prior, he wasn’t stalking me…) to the underground car park in which it resides. He looked around it for a while, appreciated the dusty vast splendour, the crackled leather interior that only 37-years of usage could bring and then discovered this armchair on wheels actually makes a pretty fine audio booth.
Then it came; “Fancy doing a podcast?”
Goy isn’t one to muck about really, and neither am I, so armed with a voice recorder, we began episode one of The Gas Station podcast there and then. Well ok, we waited for Goy’s flatmate Phil and silent Duncan (he was concentrating on not being sick, apparently) to sit in and then we began. Then the car park’s caretaker walked past and gave us all a questioning glance…
He may not be a fan, but I hope you guys will be. We’re going to make The Gas Station a fortnightly production and talk about cars and car stuff with scatological glee. The impromptu nature of the show isn’t going to change, but that’s what will make it fun and borderline libelous – Alex doesn’t exercise the slightest bit of control over his obscenity metre. So in other words, listen to it, enjoy it, but sue him and not me.
